Return of the Getai

7th lunar festival will start tomorrow. Back to the getai era.
Since young, I have been following my granny to watch getai and wayang. Actually it a norm for grandparent to bring their grandchildren along, in other word, babysit while watching their favourite show. So being a kid, i am more fascinated by the balloon man than watching scantily women or crazy old men screaming at those Hokkien song. While I started playing hide-n-seek with those neighbour kiddy or running around the banquet where one loud cannon shouting for bid. Those were in the past.
But now, Getai have appeared in Cinema-881. I haven watch yet, but I know I am tempted to watch that movie. Yup, I'm a truly Singaporean who versed in Singlish and Hokkien. I don't deny that. And I will be busy attending banquet where few old idiotic men compete each other who will get the bid, and busy going round temple and pray for my studies and career. Well, that's typical for family who hardcore in praying to God, Cheena God. But I'm neutral, I don't care a shit. I just enjoy myself with those low-graded shark fin and tiny suckling babi. Anyway, it's free.
Well Ronald, enjoy yourself this period. Take all the money you can find, eat all the food you can grabbed, watch all the getai if you can; for else you be back to your home in a month time.
